GUITAR FESTIVAL OF CORDOBA. From 6 to 25 JULY

In the month of July, Córdoba (Spain) becomes the “city of the guitar”. The Festival is the cultural and ludic exemple of the city during summer time.
The Festival which will celebrate its 30th birthday in 2010 possesses a national and international reputation due to the hight quality of the interpreters and teachers who take part, and provides two complementary areas. On the one hand, the so-called TUITION PROGRAM, with course about classical, flamenco, contemporary and modern guitar, course of composition for guitar, dancing and flamenco singing course. On the other hand the SHOWS AND CONCERTS PROGRAM wich takes place in different city areas and turns into a delight the night.

Many figures of the flamenco guitar have been went to the Festival of Córdoba as Paco de Lucía, Paco Peña, Manolo Sanlúcar, Vicente Amigo, Sabicas, José A. Rodríguez , Paco Serrano and Tomatito …But the flamenco guitar isn’t the only main character; others pillars on what the guitarist offer is based on, are jazz and modern guitar, with legendary names asB.B. King, Chuck Berry, Patt Metheny, Bob Dylan, Gary Moore, John Fogerty, Pretenders, John Mayall, Larry Coryell, Carlos Santana, John McLaughlin, Mike Stern, Toquinho, Raimundo Amador, John Scofield, Joe Satriani, Larry Carlton, Robben Ford and much more. Clasical and old music are also present in the program: Pepe Romero, Manuel Barrueco, Eliot Fisk, Leo Brouwer, Dúo Assad, Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, Cuarteto Los Romero, Costas Cotsiolis, Philippe Donnier, Rolf Lislevand, Paul O´Dette, Hopkinson Smith, Kazuhito Yamasita, Roland Dyens, David Russell, Ricardo Gallén, Carles Trepat, Stefano Grondona.

To complete this musical offer, the guitar is an excuse to organize a lot of concerts, shows, exhibitions, study day and meetings
