Concerts and ShowsConcerts and shows in the GRAN TEATRO: Nine shows are planning with main figures as Manolo Sanlúcar, maestro indisputable of the flamenco guitar and who is allow us to listen to, for the first time in Córdoba, one of his works for Orchestra and for flamenco guitar, “Música para Ocho Monumentos”, conducted by the Italian Carlo Palleschi. Niño de Pura y Manolo Franco, will complete the proposal of flamenco guitar in this special theatre. The flamenco dancing will be represented with a special tribute to Mario Maya, with a compilation of his best choreographies. We will count on Pepe Romero’s guitar and the presitigious voice of the soprano María Bayo, who are joining together in our city to interpret works of the cordovan compositor Lorenzo Palomo. Arabic music, and prestigious jazz goup, as Al di Meola y John Scofield, will complete the program. Concerts in the TEATRO DE LA AXERQUÍA: After its restoration with a great success in 2007, the Theatre de la Axerquía is the venue for this musical proposal with a biggest format adressed to a public more heterogeneous. A total of seven concerts (Rock, Blues, Jazz, Pop, Flamenco...), with national and internacional artists, an outdoor place for the enjoyment of the younger and the less younger, a leisure and meeting place where you can talk and listen to music during the Córdoba summer long nights. Concerts in the TEATRO CÓMICO PRINCIPAL: Due to the Albéniz, Tárrega and Rodrigo commemorations, this space is the venue for the cycle IN MEMORIAM, in which guitarists with the stature of Marco Socías, Fernando Espí o Javier Riba, will present programs corresponded to their works. Concerts in the SALA ORIVE: The classic guitar program, one of the most unanimously followed and appreciated by the festvial students and praised by the specialized critics, will take place, for the first time, in an remodeled space – a former and unfinished chapel, located in what was the “Huerto del Palacio de Orive”- recovered now by our city council for its cultural use. Four concerts with some of the best clasical guitar interpreters all over the world, as Manuel Barrueco, David Russell, Pepe Romero or Los Ángeles Guitar Quartet (LAGQ). Something new: Manuel Barrueco will be accompanied by the Latin American quartet and Pepe Romero will present his prestigiousThe Romero Quartet.
