Complementary activities

2.1.- STUDY DAYS ABOUT GUITAR HISTORY
OWN GUITAR NAMES

JOAQUIN RODRIGO

Since 2002, the Festival of Córdoba devotes its study days to own guitar names. So we celebrated with a great success the activities about viene dedicando sus Jornadas de Estudio a nombres propios de la Guitarra: Francisco Tárrega (2002), Andrés Segovia (2003), Paco de Lucía (2004), Leo Brouwer (2005) Manolo Sanlúcar (2006), Antonio de Torres (2007) and Julian Bream (2008).

In 2009, to conmemorate his 10th death anniversary, this days will be devoted to the maestro Joaquín Rodrigo. The lectures that illustrate several aspects of his life and his work will be given by musicologists and specialists in the distinguished compositor’s work and biography. The compilation of all this experience will be a novelty since, up to now, doesn’t exist any publication that collect the relation between Joaquín Rodrigo and the guitar

Study Days devoted to Joaquín Rodrigo will be enriched by other activities that revolve around the compositor. The conferences presented by Javier Suárez-Pajares, Leopoldo Neri, Josep Mª Mangado and Julio Gimeno, will come out the next year in 2010 in a new biography volum from the collection “Nombres propios de la Guitarra”.
